MP hosts informal drop-in surgery in Wellington

Taunton and Wellington MP, Gideon Amos, has said he will keep fighting for the proper infrastructure needed to support local housing developments.
His comments came after a successful drop-in surgery, held in Wellington.
Mr Amos, the Liberal Democrats’ spokesperson on planning and housing, said afterwards: “I was very pleased with the number of people who came to see me for a chat.
“Among the wide range of topics raised, we discussed the lack of infrastructure to go with all new housing being proposed in the area.
“Where are the doctors’ surgeries? Where are the bus services? Where are the dental practices?
“It's totally wrong that the government is imposing housing numbers on Wellington without building in the infrastructure.
“I'll be following up those issues in Parliament and doing what I can to push for the new railway station we need, the new bus services we need and the new surgeries and dentists we need.”
Mr Amos will be holding a drop-in surgery at the Priorswood Community Centre on Saturday, February 1st, from 3pm to 4pm.
He will be joined by Lee Baker, Somerset Councillor for Taunton North, and Liam Pollard, Lib Dem candidate for the Lyngford Ward in the forthcoming Taunton Town Council by-election.
