Comeytrowe & Trull - Somerset Council

Dawn Johnson

After a career in television in London, Dawn moved to Somerset 28 years ago. Since then, Dawn has raised 3 children alongside undertaking further training in counselling and working for mental health charities. Dawn is passionate about the value of community and currently supports you as your local Parish, District and Somerset County Councillor. She is excited about the opportunity to serve as a Unitary Councillor where her skills can be applied to contribute to further important decision making. This is a major transition for Somerset and requires experienced councillors with listening skills, team-building skills and the capacity to deal with a heavy work load.

Habib Farbahi

Habib started his secondary education in SCAT here in Taunton, enabling him to achieve a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Aston University. After university, he set up a number of businesses from commercial outlets to construction. He was the architect of ensuring that Somerset West and Taunton (SWT) Council implemented a new investment strategy to protect essential services. This now contributes £4.7M net income per annum to local government. Habib also ensured that all Public Open Spaces were protected from development. He introduced the provision of “affordable employment land”, and the Research and Development strategy to help with the revitalisation of our county town - a strategy that was commended by the Town and Country Planning Association.
