New Member Welcome Event A Success

Last night, the Taunton and Wellington Liberal Democrats invited new members to our welcome event. Seeing so many new members joining during the election campaign and following our historic win has been fantastic. 

Members had a chance to ask questions to Gideon, and learn about his experiences as a newly elected Liberal Democrat MP, it was inspiring to hear how passionate he is about our constituency, following on from a day where he spoke on the need for a Post Office in Wellington.

We also had a chance to hear from our Young Liberals, an area of our party that has grown significantly. Cllr Connor Solle is our youngest Taunton Town Councillor and spoke of his enjoyment of serving his ward and making a difference in people's lives. Also, Hamish Hunter, who ran our digital campaign during the election spoke about the ever-changing landscape of political campaigning and how our Young Liberals have an important role to play in futureproofing our campaign success for the future.

A special thank you goes to our Membership Officer, Virginia Murray. Virginia has been working tirelessly to welcome our new members, and this was a fantastic event!
